Recommended Resources

A few recommended self-care practices invariably come up with just about every new client, and those are journaling + meditation. Participating in these practices will benefit you in our work together. If you don’t feel inspired to participate in one or any of these, no worries! They’re simply recommendations to be aware of before we get started together.

Journaling

I recommend getting yourself a journal to release your thoughts and feelings. Start by sitting down for 5-10 minutes at the beginning or end of your day to purge every worry or repeating thought from your mind onto the paper. If you don’t feel like journaling now, not a problem, but at least you’ll have a space ready for you if inspiration strikes.

Meditation

Meditation is a universal tool for stress relief and quieting a restless mind. I know from experience, it can be very challenging to find the time to sit down and meditate for five minutes without any direction, which is why I recommend getting a meditation app. Personally, I use Calm, the free version is all you need, which provides a new 10-minute guided meditation every day. I’ve also heard Headspace is great.

Getting into a habit of setting aside 20-30 minutes each day for self-care will give you a leg-up in the work you’ll accomplish in our time together. If you already have a habit of practicing these things, excellent!
